Meet Master Lin

A leader in Qigong for wellness, a trainer for many Qigong Masters.

Master Chunyi Lin is the founder and creator of Spring Forest Qigong. Since 1995, his personal-study Qigong programs have positively transformed the lives of over 750,000 students, while his Qigong Teacher/Healer Certification programs have trained more than 400 Qigong professionals.

He has been a celebrated speaker at countless major wellness and transformation conferences with audiences as large as 4,000, both in the US and in eleven other countries, including Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama.

Chunyi is a media favorite, with network TV interviews by KNBC, Fox 9, and KMSP. He has also been interviewed and featured in the New York Times, the Star Tribune, and Pioneer.

He is a healer and wellness coach for thousands of private clients, including TV/film celebrities and professional athletes and sport teams in the US.

He is also the author of multiple Amazon best-selling books, including Born a HealerHead to Toe Healing: Your Body’s Repair Manual, and Head to Heart.

In 2010, Chunyi was also selected as “Qigong Master of the Year” by the 12th World Congress on Qigong and Traditional Chinese Medicine.

He is the director of the Spring Forest Qigong Healing Center in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, overseeing more than 9,000 healing appointments annually.

Chunyi also hosts a live weekly teaching program, The Healing Connection. For twelve years, it has empowered students all over the world.

He also leads multiple advanced Qigong retreats each year, all designed to help people discover their highest potential.

Meet Master Nance

Twenty-seven years went by after a Kung-fu Master told young Jim Nance to stop practicing Kung-Fu and instead seek out a Qigong Master. In those decades—as he searched and waited—a few things happened. He worked with inner city children; played professional basketball in Europe; visited medicine people in Africa; received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in counseling. In 1994, he met Chunyi Lin. From then on, Jim dedicated his time to practicing and eventually teaching Spring Forest Qigong. In 2005, he became a Spring Forest Qigong’s first Qigong Master. Master Jim Nance continues to do healing work, give lectures and consultations to this day. It has been his greatest honor in life to support Master Chunyi Lin’s vision, and to be able to help so many people through this incredible gift called Spring Forest Qigong.

Hon is a Spring Forest Qigong Master. He is also a Doctor of Medical Qigong and a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Hon owns the Sports Edge Acupuncture Clinic in Virginia, cofounded the Jow Ga Shaolin Institute, and was an adjunct professor at the Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. Of all the healing modalities he’s studied, he believes Spring Forest Qigong is the most powerful and hopes to introduce more people to this unique healing system to help them achieve optimal physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

Meet Ann

Prof. Ann Van de Winckel, PhD, MSPT, PT is Assistant Professor in the Division of Physical Therapy and the Division of Rehabilitation Science, in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Medical School at the University of Minnesota. She completed her Bachelor, Masters, PhD and six years of postdoctoral studies in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences in Belgium before moving to the United States, where she obtained her Minnesota License in Physical Therapy, before starting her Faculty position at the University of Minnesota in 2014. She has 21 years of research experience; 19 years of focus and training in different healing methods; and currently has level 3 in SFQ. At the University of Minnesota, she is the Director of the BRAIN BODY MIND LAB, where she and her team investigate brain mechanisms of mind and body approaches, such as Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ), to optimize self-management, daily life function, quality of life and healing in people with chronic diseases (such as stroke) and chronic pain (chronic low back pain or neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury).

Meet Master Gadu

Gadu Doushin is a Spring Forest Qigong Master and Master Teacher, award winning dancer and choreographer. He was born and raised in a small rural town in Japan. In 1989, he came to the US to study to be an engineer with a secret desire to be a dancer. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, he started performing as a dancer, which he continues to this day. In 2017, he was presented with the title of Qigong Master and Master Teacher by Master Chunyi Lin. He opened Heart of Tao Resonance Art, LLC in 2013 to bring healing to this world through his Qigong and Butoh practice.

Qigong Master Jerry Wellik has been practicing Spring Forest Qigong (SFQ) since 2000. 

He taught in the Special Education Department at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) for forty years and is currently Professor Emeritus of Education at SCSU. 

He leads or co-leads several SFQ Practice Groups in the St. Cloud area and is now teaching SFQ in conjunction with the Confucius Institute at SCSU.

Nancy is a retired Spanish teacher with an on-going love for continued work in any classroom.

She is currently taking Spring Forest Qigong into local schools (K-12) to complement Social and Emotional Learning Curriculum.

Nancy and her husband live on a farm in central Illinois where they have planted almost 100,000 trees to help restore the land and provide habitat for wildlife.
